Pregnancy is actually 38 weeks, not 40, and definitely not 42.
It's 40 weeks from last menstrual period (LMP) to the estimated due date (EDD) - but you're not pregnant until ovulation, which takes place approximately 2 weeks after the LMP.
The date of your expected period the baby is only 2 weeks old, but you're considered to be 4 weeks pregnant. Just to clarify!

I not to mention my pals happened to be taking note of the best helpful tips found on the website then immediately I got an awful suspicion I never thanked the blog owner for those strategies. Most of the young men became absolutely very interested to study them and already have seriously been having fun with them. Many thanks for actually being so helpful and for picking this sort of useful subject matter millions of individuals are really needing to be aware of. My sincere apologies for not expressing appreciation to sooner.

Thanks very much for this great article;this is the words that keeps me going through these day. I've been searching around for your site after asked to visit them from a colleague and was pleased when I was able to find it after searching for some time. Being a avid blogger, I'm dazzled to see others taking initivative and contributing to the community. Just wanted to comment to show my support for your page as it's very challenging to do, and many bloggers do not get authorization they deserve. I am sure I'll be back and will spread the word to my friends.

Sounds a lot like what happened to me, my last period ended around mid May of 2010 and around the time it was suppose to start again in June it was late for about a week to nine days, then I started to bleed a little bit for a day or two, so I was really disapointed. After that I took two home pregnancy tests a week apart from each and both were negative. Forgot to mention around this time I felt very sick, weak, and tired all the time so my husband and I went to the doctor and they told me to rule out being pregnant because of the tests I took at home, but they gave me a pregnancy test anyway...I am 31 weeks and 2 days pregnant now with a baby girl, Sophie :)

you're not actually pregnant until about 4weeks. That's when it will show up on a pregnancy test.
