Week 14 already! Seems like it’s passing quickly!

I had a weird virus this week that started out as a stomach bug and then turned into a regular run-of-the-mill cold. Personally, I would rather have a horrible cold for two weeks that a stomach virus for a day, so I was thrilled with the transition. I think I am pretty much recovered. now.
We took our two-year-old to a little pumpkin patch where he saw and touched farm animals, played in a silo filled with corn seeds, swung in a tire swing, and rode a hayrack to choose a pumpkin. He thought they were all “too big”, but we finally found him one he could carry. He declared that it was “just right.” The temperature was actually pretty cool and fall-like, so picking pumpkins seemed like an appropriate activity. When we went last year, it was almost 80 degrees, which took some of the enjoyment out of it for me.

Exercise this week ended up being okay. During the week, I only did a 30 minute session on the elliptical (which I dislike) and the p90x arms video, but I went running on Saturday and Sunday. Four days of exercise in a week is sadly as good as I’ve been since my son was born, though my work-outs have been more intense in the recent past (usually only if I’m training for a race though.) During one of my runs, it rained. I don’t particularly enjoy running in the rain, and I had not done it since college when I was on a team and didn’t have a choice. It was surprisingly refreshing and invigorating though. I should really do it more often.

As far as pregnancy symptoms go, I can’t really complain. My stomach is expanding. I only have one pair of non-maternity dress pants that I can still wear, and those are getting tighter by the day. I definitely feel like I look pregnant, but it could actually just look like I have a bit of a beer belly or something. The pregnancy symptom I had really been looking forward to is the absence of hair loss; however, it does not appear that I will be enjoying that one.

Weight: 120 pounds (down one for the week, up five for the pregnancy) I am always really (and probably irrationally) cautious with food for a few days after stomach issues in order to avoid a relapse. I’m sure that’s why I lost a pound, but I’m guessing it will take very little effort to re-gain it this week :)
