We have had some strange weather here the last few days. On Wednesday, we had ice/sleet/rain, which was quite miserable, and then on Thursday it was sunny, cloudless and 65 degrees! I really appreciate nice-weather days more and more as we head into winter! I had that horrible-weather Wednesday off from work, so I took my two-year-old to a gymnastics center with open gym time. He loved it! He bounced on the trampoline, played with the balls and hula hoops, and scooted on the scooters. His favorite thing was swinging from the rings into the pit filled with foam, though once he was in there, he usually needed help getting back out. We have been very busy at work, so I am not expecting any days off this week, though I am lucky enough to usually work only 4-5 hours per day. This allows me to spend quality time with my son everyday, which is very important to me!

I am looking forward to a girls’ weekend with my three best high school friends. We are meeting in Denver, where one of the girls lives and will probably do a few low-key hikes and eat too much junk food. I am really looking forward to it, though I am also a bit nervous to leave my son for two whole nights. I have never been away from him for more than one night at a time before, but I am sure he will have lots of fun with Daddy. I don’t let him watch TV, but pretty much anytime I am gone, they watch Toy Story together. He LOVES Buzz and Woody!

On the pregnancy front, I don’t have much to report. My face broke out again, which was a bummer since I had convinced myself I was beyond that. I thought I felt a bit more movement, but it was way up high. I am fairly certain that my uterus is not yet that high, so unless referred (for lack of a better word) pain is possible, it must have just been a little muscle contraction or twitch. I don’t think I noticed movement until 22 weeks or so with my first pregnancy, but I’m definitely on the look-out for movement earlier since this is my second! My belly is also continuing to expand. I actually feel huge today, like significantly more huge than I felt even yesterday.

For exercise this week, I went to a class at the gym, did two runs, and lifted a few free weights. I am still comfortable when I run, which is nice. This baby seems to be sitting a lot higher than my son did, which means less pressure on my bladder and less overall discomfort (at least for now).

My next appointment is on Monday, and I am looking forward to hearing the sweet little heartbeat again! The anatomy scan will probably be scheduled for four or five weeks from now, and I am looking forward to that as well!

Weight: 123.5 pounds; up 2.5 pounds for the week (yikes! That was probably unnecessary; perhaps it was the Halloween candy?!?) and up 8.5 pounds for the pregnancy.
