I had a really fun weekend in Denver with some of my longest friends. I met them when they moved in next door and across the street at the age of six. We mostly hung out, talked, laughed, and reminisced; however, we did also go for a couple of short hikes, shopping at the outlets, and out for dinner. It was a short trip, but it was the first time I had been away from my son for two nights. I missed him and was so excited to see him. One of my favorite parts about the trip was actually coming home. I walked in through the front door. My son was about 20 feet away when he saw me, and he ran to me with his arms outstretched for a hug shouting, “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!” I got hugs and kisses and snuggles, and then he announced, “Mommy not going Denver.” I sure love that little guy!

I had an appointment today, which was pretty uneventful. They checked my weight (124 pounds), my blood pressure (102/58), and the baby’s heart rate (150) and that was it. The appointment itself took about five minutes, but I did have to wait for about an hour in the waiting room. Eventually they came and asked me if I would mind seeing the nurse practitioner because my doctor was delivering a baby. I said that was fine, and she was very nice. I do think they should have asked me that when I checked in, so that my wait time could have been shorter and in case I wasn’t okay with it, I wouldn’t have wasted an hour waiting. Oh well. I did have some decent reading material, and the most important thing is that the baby is doing well!

I have definitely been feeling some subtle movements here and there, which is exciting. They are still not very powerful, and I only notice them when I am relaxing. Feeling movement is the most exciting, strange, and amazing part about pregnancy, and I look forward to the movements getting stronger and more frequent!

My exercise this week wasn’t great. I did two short runs and two pretty easy hikes. I couldn’t get to the class at the gym because I was still working when it started. I would really like to be exercising more, but our current level of business at work, my son’s schedule, my inability to get up any earlier in the morning, and my dislike for nighttime workouts seems to be preventing this. However, I know it’s not going to get any easier once this baby is actually born and I have TWO little munchkin schedules to consider, so now is really the time to get moving!
